The complete package takes 6 hours to complete. (Without the digital portion.) I start by covering the basic, technical concepts, like light sensitivity, shutter speed, lenses, lighting, depth of field, filters, aperture, color balance, etc. I will critique constructively some of your work, which I will ask you to have with you. Then I will devote more time to those areas were you want to concentrate on or need further skills development.
Once we have discussed the technical side of photography, which takes about 2/3 of the time, I will cover the artistic aspects of photography such as perspective, lines, shapes, patterns, textures, colors and thinking visually in general.
Depending on your schedule, you can plan for a 6 hour, one time session or break it down into 2 of three hours or 3 of two hours sessions.
If you would rather cover some specific, isolated topics instead of the whole package, an a la carte menu is available for you below.
I also cover Digital photography, superficially as part of the package or in depth as a separate topic. In it you will learn how to choose a digital camera, how to use it and which mistakes to avoid that most beginners make.
In the basic 2 hour minimum Digital choice, you will learn the pros & cons of point & shoot (P & S) digital cameras and single lens reflect (SLR) digital cameras. You will also learn the difference between conventional film photography and digital photography.
I will also teach you about compression, memory, file extensions, quality and how to strike a balance between both. We will discuss scanning, how to transfer an image to your computer, how to use a photo editor, how to print and how to save your images.
I will show you which are the best textbooks and magazines to buy that explain in simple and graphical terms photography in general, digital photography in specific and photo editing in straight, non-complicated language.
